Employment Programmes

Community Employment Programme

The Cavan Centre sponsors a Community Employment (CE) programme funded by the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection. It provides employment opportunities to those that are long-term unemployed. Sixteen positions are available; participants work for 19½ hours per week contributing to the work of the Centre while also enhancing and developing their personal and technical skills in preparation for returning to the workplace.

The work of the participants alongside the Centre’s full-time staff makes it possible to deliver our programmes to the marginalised and disadvantaged groups that avail of Centre.

Participants carry out work in the following areas

  • Catering & Household
  • Maintenance & Grounds Keeping
